Since 2021, the Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC), the largest independent chipmaker in the world, has been building out fabrication facilities on its campus in Phoenix, Arizona. In early 2026, Suntec Concrete (Suntec) and Nucor Rebar Fabrication (Nucor), the largest reinforcing steel supplier in North America, asked OCI to join their team and provide reinforcing steel quality consultation. OCI has deployed a consulting team to lead the quality program on-site and see that reinforcement is properly detailed, installed, and cast into structural concrete.
The project team consisted of:
- TSMC – Owner
- Austin Commercial (Austin) – General Contractor
- Suntec – Structural Concrete Trade Partner
- Nucor – Reinforcing Steel Trade Partner
- Speedie and Associates – 3rd Party Special Inspection Agency
Our continued collaboration and partnership with the project team helps see that reinforcement is installed correctly and efficiently so as to reduce delays and rework, which helps TSMC and Austin stay on schedule for the delivery their delivery of the largest ongoing project in North America, with an overall investment of more than $165B into the campus
